Been thinking…

Lately, I have been thinking of a bunch of things. The usual bills and normal everyday issues comes to mind, but one of those issues or thoughts, comes to me way too often.

For a number of years now, I have been challenging myself – trying to figure out what to do. I feel like I can do more, and I want to do more…but I don’t know what to do. I have a wonderful family, very caring relatives, and a decent career. However I feel that one piece is missing, and I have no idea what it could be.

Could it be a job, or could it be a “calling” to do something more? I dunno

I was thinking about joining the armed forces since I’m under the acceptable age bracket, but as my wife pointed out, I will be missing a bunch of things. So I dunno if that would be right for me anymore.

I could try joining some other “places”, but I honestly feel I am too unknowledgeable in those areas.

So in the end – I dunno what to do. I guess this thought or dream of mine will be something of a fantasy unless I can figure out what this could be…

Progressive Snapshot

Well, we had Progressive for a number of years now and I figured I would try out the Snapshot program. I received the device in the mail, and checked for connectivity via the progressive site.

We drive around 400 miles a week, but its all highway. So hopefully we don’t have hard stops since its a constant flow of traffic (hopefully).

Also, we mainly drive during the medium risk in the morning (around 9am), and no risk when we come home.

I will post more details in around a week or so when I get my first overview.

Server upgraded

Well, as soon as Ubuntu 12 LTS came out – I knew I would have to upgrade from 10.04 LTS. I tried from ssh, and since I did this before without any issues, I figured I would do it again. However, I ran into issues.

For one, my /boot was filled up with older kernel images so I could not install the upgraded kernel. My mistake for not keeping on top of this, but it should of auto deleted the older ones.

Secondly, the SSH connection dropped – which means I could not see what was being prompted to me. I managed to do a reconfigure on the packages that need to be configured, and I was all set to go.

But in the end, I started fresh with a new install just in case other things went wrong in the configuration.

Luckily this is a VM, so I could make snapshots and not worry about recovery and etc 🙂
