Quick update(s):

4/19/2011…
I called my epp rep and he stated everything looks ok to go.

4/21/2011…
I just received an email and it looks like the 3D glasses were shipped! I should get them pretty soon!

4/22/2011…
Looks like my XPS is in the process of being shipped!!! I called the rep and he verified, plus I was given a tracking number. Nothing on the tracking side yet, just “Shipment information sent to FedEx.” Interestingly enough though, its being shipped from NJ – so it appears I could get it in a day. Maybe tomorrow?? We will see while I keep checking tonight.

4/23/2011…
The glasses came – there is a mini unboxing in a another post. However the XPS is still in the fedex limbo – “Shipment information sent to FedEx”. I hope to get it pretty soon!

4/24/2011
It shipped!!! I will have a video on when it arrives!!

462-3235 Thank you for choosing Dell

I originally placed another order, and it had the 640 GB HDs, however cause of the delays, I cancelled that order and did the 2x 500GBs.

My EDD is 5/10, but we will see when it ships.

Too many issues

I know I haven’t been blogging that much :/ I just been so bust with quite a few things. First thing is I added another HD to my NAS, which is normally easy, but I ran out of ports on the MB for SATA, so now I have either get another motherboard, which is not the best solution, or just get a add-on card. I plan to get the add-on card, however I am trying to figure out if I should go with a software solution, or a hardware.

Secondly, my small dell laptop I had was starting to over heat on me. It was clean as a whistle, however it was just hitting around 70C on both cores. Granted it was a small laptop, but still – that isn’t a good temp. So I called Dell and they sent someone to fix the laptop. So the tech comes over for the repair and after the install I noticed both cores are doing a bit better, however now I notice that the wireless switch is stuck. To make a long story short, the wireless switch was broken by the tech who put in a new motherboard. So they sent another motherboard, but it was DOA, so they decided to send out another system! It was upgraded in a few ways – processor, memory, and SSD drive, however I was having some wireless issues. So I proceed to open up the back wireless cover to take a look. This is what I saw:

I then had no choice but to send back the laptop to the Dell depot to get repaired. Around a week later the laptop came back, but now it has a hairline scratch on the back LCD cover. So then I call and get that part from Dell and I repair it on my own.

The last thing that happened was the fact I traded in my modded high HP car for a more economy car. Granted I will miss it, but getting around 28 MPG+ on the highway is awesome instead of 19 or so 🙂

So hopefully that is it for a while 🙂

Long time

Well, it has been a very long time since I have even touched the site, but I have been really busy with a few things. Busy with work, and busy with my own life as I try to save money for some other things 🙂

A quick breakdown of the Red Vostro 3400…in short, was sent back due to a couple of issues: 1) construction and 2) electrical shock

More about 1:

—-
Some have stated that they don’t have issues, others do have it, but it wasn’t that bad. For me, it wasn’t bad enough to warrant a return. However I felt like number 2, was an issue since I was just using the system one day and out of the blue I felt a light buzzing feeling on the top of the notebook. It almost felt like a short. No one else reported this, but I had it. Therefore the laptop was sent back and I am currently still using my old and now having issues D430…

Its been awhile…

I know its been awhile, but I had quite a few family issues to work on. However that should be straightened out, and now I can blog a bit more 🙂

Anyway, ever since I sold pretty much everything I had to make some money, I was left in a void of nothing.

I sold the Alienware for a custom AMD system and OC’d it to 3.6 GHz. The camera was never really replaced, as well as the camcorder, but I can make due for now. So the only left was the laptop. I sold a Dell e6400 for a nice price on ebay, but I was wondering what to get next. After looking around around for some time I found the vostro series.

The vostro series, to me anyway, was something in between a inspiron and a latitude. So therefore I never really looked into it, and just never crossed my mind…until recently. When I saw the new 3000 series, I was impressed with the looks, and the colors of the system. So I decided to try it out and I placed my order with my account rep. A few days later, I thought I made a mistake, and cancelled it cause on outlet, they had a nice studio xps 16 for almost the same price. However I was too late and the I wanted was gone. So I replaced the order again. The problem now was the color choice. Red, being the color I wanted, was on backorder for at least 10 days at the time (now 8). So now I had a wait.

The wait wasn’t that bad, but I really hate waiting…
